These pens were custom made by Parker for the Summit at which, on 17 June 1992, President George Bush and Russian President Boris Yeltsin signed the historic Arms Reduction Treaty. Two matching pens were specially made at the Arrow Park plant in Janesville, each with the signature of one of the Presidents on the cap.

Mentioned on page 308 of David Shepherd and Dan Zazove’s wonderful Duofold book (highly recommended and indispensable for any serious Duofold collector).

Only a very small number of these can have been made, for the two Presidents and perhaps a few of their senior aides. They were never sold commercially, are very rarely seen, and it is exceptional for them to come to the market.

See the photograph of the two Presidents holding the pens (which they exchanged after the signing), reproduced by the kind permission of David Shepherd.

You have here one of each of the pens, both in mint as new condition.

A real piece of penmaking history!
